On the face of it, it seems peculiar to readmit this man into the Police, when he is clearly compelled to resign his post at the Asylum owing to charges (amongst others) of chronic alcoholism.
But the member of Council (see Enc. 5) especially Mr. Thomson & Mr. O'Brien evidently changed their tone after seeing Mr. Myers. There was no clear proof of the excessive drinking and he was apparently...
